

Janine Marie Naumu was born in Provenchere France in 1936. Her happy childhood was interrupted by WWII now living in occupied territory. After liberation she excelled in her accelerated studies and graduated on time. She met a US serviceman and was married in 1956. She immigrated with her husband to the US territory of Hawaii then moved San Luis Obispo to build a home and raise her family.
Janine enjoyed travel, gardening, and hunting for rocks and minerals, Janine was a talented artist in multiple media. Painting, sculpture, lapidary, and various crafts. Several of her favorite travel destinations include France, Russia, Turkey, Australia, and was facilitated with Egypt. She enjoyed long Mediterranean and Hawaiian cruises and several cruses to Mexico. She was a member of the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art and the Kona Historical Society. Janine throughout her life delighted in catching, preparing and eating fish and other seafood; trout; catfish; abalone; Pismo clams, oysters, mussels; uni; and opihi.
Janine made many friends spanning the decades and spread over several continents. She is survived by her son Richard and her three grandsons Levi, Tyler and Ryan; grandchildren, nieces; nephews; and friends. Special thanks from the family to her close companions, caretakers and friends in these last years including Bob and Debbie just to mention two.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Marguerite De Peme. And husband Castle Naumu whom she will be interned beside. And three beloved pets, Taffy, Rainbow, and Guinevere.
