In loving memory of John Rogers

After seven months, John lost his battle with cancer on March 30th. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. John was a Statistics professor at Cal Poly for 33 years and was active in the SLO Bike Club for decades. He is survived by his wife Marilyn and his daughters Amy and Kay. There will be a celebration of his life on Thursday, April 5th, 2:00pm, at the Johnson Avenue Church of Christ, 3172 Johnson Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society (, or a cancer research organization of your choice.

John Rogers, 77, of Fairmount Indiana, was born to John Oris Rogers and Dora Ellen Rogers. John was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, March 30th. He passed peacefully with his family attending him. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn Rogers, dearly loved father of Amy Rogers and Kathleen Carr. John was a loving brother of Janet Collins, Ron (Aretha) Rogers, Dan (Rebecca) Rogers, and Charlie (Sandy) Rogers. John was loved by his many nieces and nephews, and he was a wonderful friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
