Leonardo Aqui Dela Cruz Sr.

Los Osos, California - Leonardo Aqui Dela Cruz Sr. passed peacefully in the morning on May 28th, 2026. He was on hospice at Bayside Care Center where he was taken care of and made as comfortable as possible.

He was from the Philippines before being petitioned to the United States by his daughter, Leonora. Leonardo graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pangasinan before working as a teacher Mataas Na Paaralang Juan C. Laya in the Philippines before immigrating to the United States to be closer to his two children, Leonora and Leonardo Jr.

Leonardo was a reader, a scholar, and an avid music enjoyer until the day he passed. Often spending hours in a dark room under the light reading books. He believed in the importance of education, and reminded those close to him to pursue education as much as possible.

Leonardo was predeceased by his parents Valentin and Honorata Dela Cruz, as well as his brother and sister Conrado Dela Cruz Sr., and Consuelo Abella. He is survived by his wife, Cresencia Dela Cruz, his son, Leonardo Dela Cruz Jr., his daughter in-law, Lylanie Dela Cruz, his daughter, Leonora Dela Cruz and his son in-law, Romeo Eublera Jr. as well as his four grandchildren, Johari Dela Cruz, Janelle Eublera, Jasmine Eublera, and Jared Eublera.

We invite those who will help honor and celebrate his life to his viewing and church service. His viewing will be held on June 14th at noon until 4 PM at the Los Osos Valley Mortuary, and his church service will be held on June 15th at noon at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
