Ruth was born March 1945, Tel Aviv, Palestine to Fred and Kathe Zingelbach. They were a kind and loving family. Her parents separately fled Nazi Germany and were able to settle in Palestine before WWII. In view of the ongoing conflicts in Palestine, they emigrated to Los Angeles. Ruth attended Los Angeles public schools, and attended UCLA, graduating with a BA in 1966, with Phi Beta Kappa honors. She continued at UCLA, earning a Master's in Library Science in 1967. She met her husband James Bianchi in 1967, and they were married in 1968. It has been a loving marriage of nearly 50 years, with a beautiful sweet daughter, a kind, loving son-in-law and 2 lovely grandchildren. Ruth and her husband have been in Morro Bay since 2002, and Ruth was well known for making stuffed animal Christmas ornaments to encourage donations to ASAP. Ruth was small but strong, and struggled valiantly for nearly 4 years with cancer, including surgery, chemo and immunotherapy. Ruth has left a legacy of love, kindness, thoughtfulness and friendship with everyone she met. We can do no better than try to emulate her wonderful qualities. She will be missed greatly; we take solace in that she is in our hearts and with us every day
