

Sherrill Thomas Sherrill Thomas, surrounded by her family, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 19, 2016. She was 75 years old. Sherrill was born in San Luis Obispo, Calif., and was raised by her mother, Marie Wilson and grandparents, Frank and Ruth Cayetano. Shortly after graduating from San Luis Obispo High School she met and married Melvin Thomas. They were married for 47 years before his passing. They lived in San Luis Obispo and Shandon, Calif. Sherrill eventually moved with her daughter to Ione, Calif., to be closer to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom were the light of her life. Throughout her many wonderful years, Sherrill worked as a waitress, eventually working for TRW Electronics Company until their closing. She then went on to work in retail. She loved to crochet, dance, take pictures, play video games, and collect Ty toys, Elvis, monkeys and anything in the color red. Sherrill was a woman loved by many. She was well known as the lady who rode around on the scooter, and as Mom, Grandma or Nana. She touched so many lives with her loving and generous spirit. Her loving nature was a magnificent example of how to live a full and happy life. She will be greatly missed. Sherrill is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Thomas; grandparents, Frank and Ruth Cayetano, and mother, Marie Wilson. Sherrill is survived by her daughter Lorrie, grandchildren, Jenni Holstine (Ryan McMahon), Katie Greer (Garrett Greer), and John Holstine (Kimberlyn Holstine), seven great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016, at 11:00am at Los Osos Valley Memorial Park in Los Osos, Calif. A reception will follow at the Marriott Hotel banquet room in Paso Robles, Calif.
