Wanda Morris, born Wanda Louis Pybus in Hungerford Texas, and lived in San Luis Obispo, CA. She passed away May 27 and is survived by her two sons, James, wife Mia, granddaughters Leslie, Stacy and Jamie, four great grandchildren and son Steven with grandson Mattthew. She grew up in a loving family with a devoted hard working mother and father and an older brother who served his country to the fullest spent her young years in San Antonio eventually moving to Austin to marry and raise a family where she lived until moving to California in 2013 to be close to her son.
Throughout her life, Wanda lived being the ever most cheerleader to all and all causes and married over 52 years to James E. Morris and raised two boys with love and happiness only she could develop and protect. Throughout her life, Wanda was able to create change herself we today classify as a positive disrupter that made a difference. In fact, she took great pride in mentoring all that the only thing for sure in life is change. Raising kids, her number one role in life, supporting her husband’s career, and church involvement her life evolved into a career in advertising managing finance onto being a member of the Board defined her life as being full.
Family being foremost in her life, Wanda welcomed four grandkids and four great grandkids into the family. Nothing made her more happy than for family to be together even if that meant sleeping on top of each other at home in Austin for holidays or on vacation. Togetherness was essential to being a family to her and installed that into all of us.
Having relocated later in life to Southern California and then Central Coast California, Wanda was able to be close to her son and family. Her life was overwhelmed with new friendships and incredible care support at Sydney Creek where she loved living. In fact, Mom was able to live the last 6 years in a setting she absolutely adored and we know they will miss her dearly.
Wanda, Mom, Grandma – all will miss your energy, love, cheer and tenacity but know your spirit lives in all you have touched. You have scared so many hearts that carry you with them every day to live life and love to the fullest. You are well loved!
As Wanda signed off every holiday card, her wish now as she spends her time as an Angel in Heaven “may your life be filled with health and happiness.” Not a goodbye Mom, but till we meet again.
A visitation will be held at Los Osos Valley, 2260 Los Osos Valley Road, Los Osos, CA 93402, US, on May 4, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
