He spent his high school years in the R.O.T.C. After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force.
Bill had many hobbies which included tropical fish, gardening, golfing, motorcycling and photography.
His passion was devoted to the Men’s shoe business. After retirement he owned a camera store and framing business.
Bill is survived by his wife Nancy L. Flanders; daughters Jody Lynn Steinman (Harry), Pamela Fierro (Trent), Rebecca Sue Valdivia (Vincent) and Brenda Flanders (Will); ten Grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Bill was predeceased by his daughter Barbara Sieck.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Trinity United Methodist Church, in Los Osos.
Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
