Albert E. Fenster, age 90, of Bardstown, Kentucky, joins his parents and wife of 53 years, Louise in heaven on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. He is also preceded in passing by two son-in-laws, John State and Scott Howard.
Having been born and raised in New York City, Albert later enlisted in the Army at 16 years old, was wounded and received a Purple Heart while serving in Korea. He later moved to Kentucky to begin life with his wife Louise. Albert was a Master Mason and member of Abraham Lodge #8, where he served four terms as Master of his Lodge. His sense of humor brought smiles everywhere he went and was a stranger to no one.
Left to cherish his memory are his two loving daughters; Paula State and Sharon Howard, ten grandchildren; Ian Hardin (Nicole), Lauren Fernandez (Jose), Kevin State (Ashley), Rachael Crowe (Matt), Sarah Howard, John M. State (McKenzie), Tara ONeal, Darren State (Jamie), Dawn Barclay (David), and Angela Higgins (Gerald) and eighteen great grandchildren and a great - great grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady and Son Westport, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY 40222, from 11-2PM on Saturday, February 15th. A celebration of Albert's life will follow visitation, in the chapel of Arch L. Heady and Son Westport beginning at 2PM. A private burial will take place in Louisville Memorial Garden's East on Tuesday, February 18th.
