Little Joe graduated from Valley High School, Class of 1949. He served in Korea with the U.S. Air Force, answering his country’s call with quiet resolve and an adventurous spirit. He later devoted 50 years of hard work and steady commitment to Ford Motor Company, a testament to a life built on responsibility, endurance, and pride in doing a job well.
Little Joe was married to Lillyellyn for 50 years, a bond marked by devotion and constancy.
Little Joe was preceded in death by his father, Camille Pegourie; mother, Bessie Thompson Pegourie; daughter, Celeste Nichole LeQuire; grandson, Caleb William LeQuire; sisters, Marie Pegourie, and Helen Flood; niece, Beth Turner (Danny); and nephew, Jimmy Flood.
He is survived by his wife, Lillyellyn Pegourie; daughter, Ruth Pegourie (Kevin) Conrad of Huntsville, Alabama; granddaughters, Zoey Celeste Conrad, Annabelle Josephine Conrad, and Emily Cheryl Conrad, all of Huntsville, Alabama; niece, Anna Kaiser (Lee) Lagrange, KY; nephew, Marshall Joseph Flood (Mary Jean); 8 great-nieces/nephews; and other friends.
Graveside service will be 2pm, Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218.
