Albert (Sonny) Junior Rutledge, age 81, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026. Born on June 15, 1944, Sonny lived a life marked by love for his family, resilience, and quiet strength.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristel Doss (Justin Doss), and his four beloved grandchildren: Chey Rutledge, Madison Marquart, Linkin Marquart, and Nolan Doss. His grandchildren were a tremendous source of pride and joy, and he cherished the time he spent with them.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Mcheter; his father, Albert Rutledge; and his daughter, Sarah Rutledge.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 10th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and remember Sonny’s life.
Albert will be remembered for his devotion to his family and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him. His memory will be cherished always.
