

Alice Elizabeth Shartzer, 93, of Louisville, passed away on the evening of March 2, 2011 at Christian Health Care Center with her son by her side. She was the former Alice Cannon and a native of Breckinridge County, KY. Alice had worked for Enro Shirt Company as a seamstress, and was a former member of Ninth & O Baptist Church. She had attended Hazelwood Baptist Church and was a member of the Poetry Club at the Friendship House, and she loved to cook and do crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John E. and Cordie Carter Cannon; husband, Orval Cecil Shartzer and siblings, Marvin, Launer, Joe and Harvey Cannon and Annie Clark.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving son, Curtis Shartzer (Barbara) and sisters, Doris Reynolds, Lillian Thomason, Hazel Wimsatt and Athleen Linton; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Alice's Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
