Alma June Plummer

She was born May 19, 1928 in Mercer, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late William Edward and Margaret Bernice Nye Bartholomew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ron Plummer and two brothers, Belvin and Warren Bartholomew.

She worked in the Map Department with the U.S. Census Bureau for many years. As a young woman, she was employed at the Denver Post. After marriage, she did civilian work at Ft. Bliss, Texas, while her husband was stationed there. She was also involved with the Animal Care Society.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Virgil C. Plummer; her children, Lawrence (Dorothy) Plummer; Laurel Dunlap; Neal (Ann) Plummer; grandchildren, David, Jenny, Rebecca, Michael, Hannah, and Drew Plummer, Katie Dunlap, and Cindy Baniago; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hailey and Killian. And of course, all of her cats.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2012 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village. Interment will follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
