Mrs. Rountree was a retired surgical technician for Baptist Hospital East and a member of the Gospel Kingdom Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald York Rountree, son, Donald Ray Rountree and grandson Benjamin Robert King.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lanita "Jeanie" KIng (Bob), Robert Allan Rountree and Sonya Taylor (Tommy); grandchildren, Laura, Christina, Aaron, Gillianne, Heather, Timothy, Nicholas, Nathan, Shelby, Austin, and Shannon; 21 great-grandchildren and a sister, Zoe Walker.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday 2:00 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00 am Friday until the time of the service.
The family would like memorial donations in Alta's name to be directed to the Gospel Kingdom Church.
