She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Houchens; parents, Steve and Prudie Embry; son, Donnie Lee Simpson; and daughters, Brenda Houchens Carney and Sue Houchens Garcia.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Patricia A. Greenwell (Tommy), Laverne Parsons (Larry), Roger D. Simpson, Ronald Houchens and Glendell L. Simpson (Mary Lou); 26 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday at 12pm at Evergreen Dignity Chapel. Visitation will be Friday from 11am-8pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Old Big Reedy Cemetery, Roundhill, KY.
