Anna Katherine Pierson 80 of Crescent Hill, passed away Saturday at Sacred Heart Village. She was the daughter of the late William F. and Mary Ellen Davis Ballinger. She was a long time member of Clifton Baptist Church, where she served as a secretary for many years. She also was a retired associate for the Arch L. Heady Funeral Homes, and a volunteer for United Crescent Hill Ministries. She was a member of V F W Auxiliary at Zachary Taylor Post.
She was preceded by her husband; John R. Pierson, Sr., twin great-grandsons of Nick Pierson, and her brothers; Richard, Wm "Bob" Ballinger, and son in law, James Hopper.
She is survived by her children; John R. Pierson Jr. (Melanie) of Gainesville, GA, Sue Ruby (Ira), of Savannah, GA, and Mary Ellen Hopper of Vincennes, IN. Her 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-grandchildren.
Services to celebrate Anna Katherine's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, in the chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday.
