He was an Army Veteran of the Korean war. He enjoyed driving through and visit various Louisville cemeteries.
Red is preceded in death by his former wife, Minnie Nugent Koenig and his parents, John and Frieda Koenig.
He is survived by his children, Tammy Lucas (James Hall), Trudy Blevins Paul, Arthur L. Koenig Jr., and Carl E. Koenig (Tammy). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Red's caretaker, Lani and her son, Zoren Parker for their excellent care.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 4-8 pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville KY 40218.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10am Friday August 22, 2025 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place at Cave Hill Cemetery Immediately following the funeral, 701 Baxter Ave., Louisville KY 40204.
