

Arthur Steve Meredith, known lovingly as Steve or "Butch", passed away at the age of 78 on August 15, 2026. He was born on July 8, 1948, to Frank and Ora Meredith in Cave City, Kentucky. Steve was a member of Greenville Christian Church in Greenville, Indiana. known as the “Okey Dokey Man”, he was generous with his time and resources and loved helping and serving others. He went on several mission trips to the Philippines and coached hundreds of kids over the years as a little league baseball coach. Steve often put others’ needs ahead of his own. His other interests include collecting model diecast cars and watching Westerns, namely True Grit (the old one). Steve and his late wife, Vicki, shared a love of dancing. They met at a dance and were swing dancing and doing the jitterbug until her passing. Along with dancing, they enjoyed taking drives traveling out west and in general spending quality time together. Steve was also an avid sports fan. He followed the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball, New York Yankees Baseball, and Green Bay Packers Football.
Along with his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Vicki L. Meredith; seven siblings; and his great grandchild, Rylee.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Shahara Marcum (Bobby), Bryant Meredith (Mayme), and Kyle Meredith; his sister; his grandchildren, Chasity Czeczok (Ryan), Jasmine Buchanan (Jacob), Jordan Polson (Joel), Devyn Meredith, and Lyncoln Meredith; and his great grandchildren, Emerson, Caden, Colson, Eden, Hollis, Brantlee, and Harper.
A visitation for Steve Meredith will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday August 21, 2026, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. A funeral service will be held at the same location on the following day, Saturday August 22, 2026, beginning at 11:00AM. He will be entombed at Evergreen Cemetery alongside his beloved wife, Vicki.
