He was retired as owner of Trading Post Homes, where he had been owner for 50 years. He was an Army veteran of WW II and a member of Gospel Kingdom Church where he was an Elder and ordained minister, presiding over 63 weddings and numerous funerals.
Mr. Richter was preceded in rest by a daughter, Amy Beth Richter; grandson, Matthew Richter; and sister-in-law, Vicki Paul.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sharon (Branham); five sons, Terry Richter (Qing), Mike Richter (Marena), Steve Richter (Jamie), Chris Richter (Diana) and Johnny Richter (Vicki); three daughters, Cheryl Richter, Donna Lyons (Sean) and Debbie Roehlig (Dave); 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren plus numerous nieces/nephews.
His funeral will be held on Monday, October 2nd, at 11am at the Gospel Kingdom Church, 4742 Cane Run Rd, with interment following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Sunday from 1pm until 7pm at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, and Monday from 10am until the time of service at the church.
His life positively affected family, church and business. He will be missed by many.
