Atlee "Chile" Sandage

Atlee G. “Chile” Sandage, 63, of Louisville, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at Norton Audubon Hospital.

He was the owner operator of Chile’s Auto Body, a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, and was formerly a volunteer firefighter for the PRP Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Wisman, and a brother, Keith Sandage.

He is survived by his wife Susan Miller Sandage; sons Jeremy Sandage (Amy) and Chris Sandage; sisters, Margie Howard, Della Zelsdorf and Melvine Hawkins; brothers, Harry Sandage, Garnett Sandage, Jr., Fred Sandage, Robert Sandage, and Tommy Sandage; and a granddaughter, Tessa.

His funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Wednesday and 2-8 pm Thursday.

to Chile's Family,

the Farley family sends our deepest condolences. He spent a year or so hanging around our chaotic, kid-filled house when he dated Kathy in the 60's. We all thought highly of him, and all of us have memories of a wonderful, kind, funny, young man.

All of us Farleys (Patsy, Buddy, Jimbo, Kathy, Scotty, Nancy, and Billie - Jeannie wasn't born yet) are saddened by the loss of someone - who touched our lives 40 something years ago . . .

I will always treasure the memories we got share with Chile & Susie from playing cards together, enjoying watching their Sons growing up into Men, so proud of them, to traveling to cold snowy Illinois one year to visit them, even participating in a goofy Hoola Hoop Dance yes you guess it "Chile & my Bestie Lil Sus " I'd seen me do this different times with the kids gooff-off so Chile just had to talk me in to entering this... & yes we won!, To going to the Lake, Fishing, over the years, Eating with Granny& Papaw Lasagna ,working on cars in that old garage on Bridwill & the body shop Firedept years..& of course there's concern about Christmas Chocolate Fudge LOL You know I have to share ......Rest in peace my friend, we will always be there God willing for Susie, Jeremy, Chris, Amy, Tessa, & the rest we love them all......
