Just learned of Barbara's passing today thru other co-workers at National City.  She helped "break me in" when I came into the fold of First National/National City.  I was so saddened to hear of her untimely death.  She was a wonderful person, always honest, and full of integrity.  Even though we hadn't seen each other often in the past few years, whenever we did, it was as though no time had passed, and the same respect and friendship remained.  So sorry for your great loss.

Barbara and I were "bus buddies" for many years dashing home from bank.  She will be missed by all that had the good fortune to call her friend.  My thoughts and prayers are with the Smith family.

Barbara and I worked together in her early years at First National Bank. We also worked together at several branches of National City. She was such a sweet person with a quick wit.  I know she will be missed by her family, friends and former co-workers.

Janice and the entire Versaw/Smith Family - my deepest sympathy in the sudden and much too soon loss of Barb. I remember my time spent in her dorm room when she was a senior and I was a freshman at Transy. Barb was so sweet and was a wonderful role model for everyone in our sorority and on campus. Thank you for posting the photo album as it provides me a glimpse into her life since Transy. May your precious memories ease your pain in the days ahead.

I was shocked to learn of Barbara's passing.  I will always remember her laugh and smiling face when I came out of my office on the fourth floor of National City Bank. Her smile was contagious and always made my day brighter. Thank you Barbara for being the positive and kind person you were. You will me missed to say the least.

I had the privilege to live in old Forrer Hall with Barb during our Transy years. I loved the twinkle in her eyes and sharp wit, and as I think back now, can not recall Barbara ever saying or doing a mean-spirited thing. It is obvious that she was very much loved! I know that your hearts are saddened now but pray that you rest in the assurance that Barbara touched so many lives with her presence while here and that she is now with all the saints. ?

I was so sorry to hear of Barbara's passing.  I worked with her at several branches with National City and then at PNC in Wealth Management.  She was such a lovely person. I know she will be missed very much by her family and friends.

Barbara's mother and my mom, Martha Kalb Roush, were good friends while they were at Transylvania.  They kept in touch through the years.  I was one of Barb's sorority sisters at Transylvania.  She was always so much fun, kind-hearted and thoughtful.  I am so thankful that I was able to see her at our 40th Reunion in 2010.  I am truly sorry that such a wonderful person has passed.  I know she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

When I was a child, our family always visited the Versaws for New Years Eve. My father knew them from his days at Transylvania in the early 40's. I am sorry I do not remember more details from those visits at your house in the late 50's. I am a member of the class of '69, so our time at Transylvania over lapped. I wish I could remember more. My sympathy to you and your family.

Barbara was the most kind hearted and caring person I have ever been blessed with meeting. She welcomed my daughter Courtney and I into her heart and family with open arms without hesitation. She always put others before herself and was one of the most devoted mothers I have ever known and spoiled her granddaughter like no other. I will miss her greatly and am deeply saddened that our time together was so short lived.

Barbara was a treasured friend of mine since the late 1960s.  We went to Transylvania together, joined the same sorority, worked on the college newspaper, and lived in the dorm.  She was a bridesmaid for me and I was able to attend her wedding.  She had me stay at her home on occasion since I was from Pa.  Got to know most of her family.  I am sorry she is gone. One of the last times we talked she told me how much the visits with family on the weekends at the nursing home meant to her.  It was sad for her mom but the family managed to find some sweet times together even at the nursing home.  We are all fortunate to have had the chance to know her.

Barbara and I were sorority sisters at Transylvania University, and she was always very kind, considerate and thoughtful of others.  I am so sorry to learn of her passing.  It was a privilege to know her.  My condolences to her family.

I knew Barbara at Transylvania University. May  your happy memories sustain you through this hard time. My sympathies to all of Barbara's family.

Words can never truly express what Barbara meant to me and the impact she had on my life. From the moment, I was volunteered to help remodel her kitchen in 2006, I was family. She was the mother I never had and the mother I've always wanted. It was my honor at one time to be her Son-n-law, but she always treated me more like a Son. Even when I was no longer her Son-n-law she continued to treat me like family. She was an Wonderfully Amazing mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend. I was truly blessed to have had her in my life. I will cherish every memory i had with her for the rest of my life and I will miss her always.

I am greatly saddened by Barb's death......  She and I have been close friends ever since we met and joined the same sorority at Transylvania University over 45 years ago.  I just talked to her on the phone 2 weeks ago.  She has had heart problems for several years, but a stroke......who would have thought.  I have been so blessed with Barb's friendship all these many years.  She was a sweet and dear friend from a wonderful family.  My heart goes out to Ike and her children.  God Bless Them.

I was privileged to know Barbara while she worked at PNC.  Barbara was one of the most charming, classy, considerate women that I have ever had the pleasure to work with.  I have to admit that sometimes I would spend too much time talking to her on the phone because I enjoyed her company too much.  She was just good people and I was blessed to have known her.  My sympathies go out to the family … please take some small comfort in knowing that Barbara made a positive, ever-lasting impression to those that were blessed to have been in her life.

Barbara was truly a good friend and will be greatly missed.  I always enjoyed our conversations.  She always had a way of telling a story!  I will miss her friendship greatly.

Barbara was a very kind person and a delight to work with when it came to banking matters. She handled quite a few business transactions for my sons at National City Bank. My heart goes out to her family during this sorrowful time.

Barbara was so kind and thoughtful, and she was always doing helpful things for those in her life.  I am grateful for the three years Adalyn got to spend with her beloved Grammy.  We will miss her dearly but will keep her memory alive.

This is a time of great sadness. Barbara was a very kind, sweet, caring, and generous woman. She never had a bad thing to say and would light up those around her. She will be missed. Rest in peace with our heavenly father. My heartfelt condolences to the Smith family during this difficult time.
