She was a 1955 graduate of Dupont Manual High School and also attended Murray State University.
Barbara was a school teacher at St. Cecelia, Mother of Good Council and St. Margaret Mary grade schools. After teaching, she then went into Real Estate and was top producer with Paul Semonin Real Estate, she had her own company for a short time before retirement.
In her youth she was a Derby Princess and Derby Queen runner up in 1957 and was also Queen of the Madison Regatta. She was President of the Derby City Chicks of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, William R. Veith, Jr.; sons, William R. Veith, III (Karen) and Gary Veith; daughters, Trayce Grimes (Tom) and Leslie Gordon (Sam); three grandchildren, Matt Gordon (Tricia), Phil Gordon, Andrew Veith and one great-grandson, Pierce Gordon.
All services for Barbara will be private for the family, due to COVID-19. Barbara will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park.
