Barb was born on December 10, 1939, to the late Maybelle and Tony Stark. She graduated from Southern High School in 1957 and enjoyed keeping in touch with her high school classmates. She also enjoyed hosting many dear friends and family members at her Nolin lake house, sitting on the pontoon with a good book, spending winters in Florida, playing bunco, and dancing to live music at the Elks Club. Barb had a true servant’s heart, working at St. Rita Church as an office manager for 25 years, and serving as a booster, Girl Scout troop leader and youth coach.
Barb is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John: daughters Tracy Boeckmann (Steve), Tara Birk (Tony) and Tammy Wilson (Mark). After raising daughters, Barb got the full testosterone experience with her seven grandsons, all of whom she adored: Michael, Andrew and Matthew Boeckmann; Justin and Bryan Birk; and Grant and Garett Wilson. “Nena” could often be found playing poker with them at the lake or watching countless ball games from the bleachers. Granddaughter Chastity Oleson (Chris) also held a special place in Nena’s heart.
Barb is also survived by her sister, Bettye Smith (Canie); brothers-in-law Jim Whyte (Shirley) and Richard Whyte; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
