Belvie Nan Brock

November 24, 1933 – September 3, 2026

Belvie Nan Brock (Stewart), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, at the age of 92. Born in Corbin, Kentucky, on November 24, 1933, Belvie lived a life defined by faith, family, hard work, kindness, and an unmistakable joy for the people around her.

Belvie worked hard her entire life and was exceptionally good at everything she did. Much of her career was spent working in the family business running the Middletown Kentucky Fried Chicken store in Louisville, KY with her husband, Charlie. Later in life, she returned to the workforce at Talbots, where she had sales success in the top tiers of the company. She had a natural ability to connect with people, a remarkable work ethic and a gift for making people feel special that followed her everywhere she went.

Belvie was a faithful Christian and a proud charter member of Douglas Hills Church of Christ. She truly walked in her faith, and it was deeply rooted, genuine, and devout.

Belvie loved the simple things, and she loved them wholeheartedly. She adored her family and would do absolutely anything for them. She was fun and playful, kind and generous, and possessed a quiet strength and wisdom beyond her years.

There was a gentleness about her, but just underneath it was a toughness and a feisty spirit that never left her. Perhaps her greatest gift was simply being a good person - she was good to her bones. She was uniquely and perfectly herself, and so very cherished and loved.

Belvie is survived by her children, David Brock (Susan Brock) and Deborah Brock (Steve Blank); her grandchildren, Erin Brock, Blair Milby (Karim Nasr), and Matt Brock (Lauren Brock); and her great-grandchildren, Landon Brock, Quinn Brock, Alex Brock, and Leena Nasr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Pearl Stewart, her husband, Charles Brock, and her siblings, Ona Mae, Georgia, Clifford, Mandeline, Harold, Calvin, Evelyn, and Ralph.

She was laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky, in a private service for immediate family.

In lieu of gifts, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Belvie’s memory.
