

Born on December 27, 1986, in Columbus, Ohio, to Lynn and Brenda Kruse, he grew up in Columbus, Ohio; North Canton, Ohio; Collierville, Tennessee; and Fort Smith, Arkansas. In his adult life, he lived in Pickerington, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from South Side High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas, received his associates degree from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, and University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. He was very adept at computers and built his dad’s and his own computers which are still working today, and earned his CompTIA A+ certification. He was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, and held several youth leadership positions. Ben worked as a warehouse and computer service center professional repairing laptops, computer monitors, MacBooks, and VR Headsets, and was also a quality control auditor, amongst other positions.
Ben is preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Kruse, his grandparents, Merlyn and Bonnie Kruse, Loretta and Charles Perry and an uncle, Greg Perry.
Ben is survived by his father, Lynn Kruse; a sister, Heather Cox; aunts and uncles; Elizabeth Fallen, Jeff (Shana) Perry and David Perry, Joy Perry, Diane (Mike) Thayer, Kent (Michelle) Kruse; great aunts and uncles; Ruth Kruse, Jane Kruse, Dallas Kruse (Elsi), and Wilma Cottrell.
An open visitation will take place from 1pm-2pm on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Middletown United Methodist Church, 11902 Old Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40243 with a celebration of Ben's life starting at 2pm. A private inurnment ceremony will take place at a later date in the spring at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
