Benny Patrick Hamlet

Benny Patrick Hamlet 79 of Crescent Hill, passed away Friday, June 28th, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 24, 1933 in Marion County, KY, and raised by his dear mother, Mary Agnes Bishop on The Point. He was the retired owner of Benny’s Transmission Center in Crescent Hill for over 30 years. He was a 50 year member of Shawnee Lodge 850 F & AM, a former member of Kosair, the Kosair Director Staff, Past President of Kosair Kampers , Scottish Rite, and a Kentucky Colonel.

Benny loved the outdoors, where he could go hunting and fishing, and provided the meat on his family’s table. He loved his Beagle dogs. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Agnes Bishop.

He is survived by his dear wife of 62 years (June 30th), Dovie Ann Campbell Hamlet, his 2 sons; Benny Lee Hamlet (Jackie), and Michael Wayne Hamlet, his 2 daughters; Lillian Ann Hamlet, and Joleen Marie Zeitz ( Kevin Begley), his brother ; Joseph Hamlet, and his 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services to celebrate Benny’s life will be held at Noon Wednesday in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 2-8 pm Tuesday.
