As a young man, the Meibers family always talked about visiting Uncle Ben from America. At that time, America was still very far away for me and my relatives weren't that interesting. Today, however, I look back and explore my roots. I found an old photo of my grandma and Uncle Ben. It was recorded in my hometown in Esterwegen. Through internet research I came across this site and would like to send a final greeting to Uncle Ben, whom I unfortunately never had the opportunity to meet in person.

It's hard to find the right words to express my heart felt sorrow for the loss of such a fine, kindhearted gentleman. Ben was not only my co-worker at KODA for more years then I care to count, including my traveling buddy when we gave presentations to local organizations promoting organ and tissue donation but most of all my dear and true friend. I loved him and will miss him. My prayers are with the entire Meiber's family that God will provide you with comfort, peace that passes all understanding and strength as you grieve the loss you such a special man. Love to all,

We loved your dad he's been such a special part of our lives.  We will cherish the wonderful memories of our times together at Barren and in Louisville.  His smile and soft spoken voice will remain with us forever.  On the morning of his passing we were driving past his cabin and Ginny and I said Hi Benny we love you only to find out he had left us.  Must have been our strong feelings of friendship.  Mr. Meibers was a very special man to me and to my family and someone who loved to share conversation over a good cocktail.  He will be sorely missed.   We love you,
