

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years: Patricia Sullivan Meibers; and his son: William D. Meibers.
Benny served his country as a member of the U.S. Army for 8 years. He later retired from Naval Ordinance, then worked for KODA (Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates). Benny was a 30-year heart transplant recipient and an active member of the Second Chance group. He participated in the Transplant Olympic Games. Benny was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, playing bingo, and was an avid UK fan. He also enjoyed having his martinis.
Left to cherish is memory is his wife: Dorothy Young Meibers; children: Steven Meibers (Patricia), Bernie Meibers (Jenny), Terri Meibers-Fisher (Bobby); grandchildren: Tony, Nicole, Aimee & Mackenzie; great-grandchildren: Addison & Juliet; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass for Benny will be held Tuesday July 18th, 2017 11am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, 11501 Maple Way. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday July 17th, 2017 from 2-8pm at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Hwy.
