Bernice Jane (Heitzman) Burton, 95, departed this life on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Home in Louisville.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky on Wednesday, June 20, 1928 to parents, Clarence Heitzman & Alma Smith.

Bernice had a strong will, was full of stubborness & had a great sense of humor. She was also very generous, loyal & brave. She dearly loved her two children.

Besides her parents, Clarence Heitzman & Alma Smith; her husband, James William "Jim" Burton; & 4 siblings, precede Bernice in her passing.

Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Mary Jane Kleinhelter & Jim Burton; 2 - grandchildren; several great - grandchildren; plus, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 11 a.m. - 12 noon. Bernice will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums.
