

Bernice Ferguson, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday January 7, 2015 surrounded by her family. She retired from Stewarts Dry Goods where she worked in the costume jewelry department, and was a member of the OASIS club at Walnut Street Baptist Church, and the Friendship Club, and the Young at Hearts Club. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Murry and Mary Harral, and her husband of fifty years, James A. Ferguson. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Simonis (Wayne) and her son, Michael R. Ferguson (Barb); 3 grandchildlren, 5 great-grandchildren; her brothers Charles Harral and Murry Harral, Jr. (Electa); a host of nieces and nephews, step grand-children and step great-grand-children, relatives and friends. A service to celebrate Mrs. Ferguson’s life will be held at 10 am Saturday at the Kenwood Baptist Church, 6603 So. Third St. with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. from 4-8 pm Friday and after 9 am Saturday at the church.
