August 18, 2023, Beth Ann (Jarboe) Hardesty, 58, of Shepherdsville, KY was received into the arms of our Heavenly Father. She worked courageously to remain on this earth while hospitalized for 11 months. Those 11 months were fraught with complications from pneumonia resulting in a double lung transplant in December 2022. She was superhuman on this journey, but tired, she laid her cape down and was ushered into Heaven, winning in everything, surrounded by beloved family and friends.
Beth was born in Louisville, KY on April 30, 1965. She was a naturally born artist. She could create phenomenal meals, draw, paint, and design jewelry. She was an artist in her professional career. She graduated from Roy’s of Louisville Beauty Inc. School (’85). She was a revered hair stylist known throughout Kentucky, with some flying from out of state to be cared for by her. She was passionate about her career and was gracious with her talents. She was sought out to enhance the beauty of countless brides on their wedding days. Beth was an expert hair colorist and make-up artist. She was glamorous incarnate with an affinity for designer clothes, shoes, and handbags, yet she could make a baseball hat and running clothes look like they had just come off a Paris Fashion Runway. No one looked lovelier running a marathon or a 5k. Beth had worked hard to venture out independently and was the proud owner of a thriving salon, BrEaTHe Salon, LLC. She would have celebrated its 3rd anniversary on the day she left us. Beth was passionate about her clients and their beauty needs and a patient listener to those sitting in her chair. She had a long roster of clients who remained with her for 25-plus years. So many were considered friends to her. Not only was she a beautiful person on the outside, but she was also a beautiful person on the inside with an affinity for being one of the best “Aunts,” related or not, “Sister” related or not, Daughter, and Friend. She loved all creatures, great and small. She took pride in her burgeoning bird-watching bird feeding hobby and nurturing stray cats. Her fur babies lived the best life possible. She loved them unapologetically and with the fervor of any human mother-child relationship. She loved all things about the enrichment of animals. She loved to travel and loved the ocean. There wasn’t a sunbeam or sea spray that wasn’t her friend. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Louisville, KY. She was devoted in saying the rosary of Our Blessed Mother.
Family Who Went Before
Beth was predeceased by her father, Michael Owen Jarboe, who died on February 5, 2020. We would be remiss if we did not mention her fur babies waiting for her at Heaven’s Gate: Gracie, Sadie, Gus, Rex, and, most recently, in 2022, her heart dog-Izzy.
Family She Left Behind
She is survived by her devoted, adoring mother, Janet Elizabeth (White) Jarboe, who stayed by Beth’s bedside throughout her hospitalization and was with Beth when she breathed her last breath. Beth, the second child of Janet and Michael Jarboe, is also survived by her siblings; Jami Michele(Jarboe) Spears (John Spears), Joli Margaret Jarboe (Lesley Brosick), and Michael Brent Jarboe (Lori Roby Jarboe). Special mention must be made to Mary Bernadette Mudd, dear friend, who kept vigil with Beth and the family throughout most of Beth’s hospitalization. She leaves behind her longest known best friend, Dana Buechele McAllister. They have been together since second grade!
She will also live on through her beautiful nieces and nephews, whom she loved limitlessly: Sydney Beth Spears, Macy Jo Spears, Nina Marler (Allen Marler), Schuyler Powers, Nathaniel Jarboe, and Katherine Jarboe. She also adored her baby great-nieces and great nephews: Dashiell, Owen, Marigold, Storey and Jubilee.
