

August 16, 1950. She was the daughter of Leon Ray and Dorothy (Ray) Zeillmann. She was a
graduate of Western High School and worked as a bookkeeper. She spent her childhood in the
Iroquois Park area of Louisville Kentucky. She was of the Methodist denomination.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Dorothy Zeillmann, Father, Leon Ray, and Brother,
Michael Ray.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Smith (Rachel Smith), Jennifer Alvey (Tony Thomas), stepchildren;
Brendan Zirnheld (Jeremy Mertz), Renata Wilson (Dan Wilson) and her grandchildren; Keaton
Smith, Kenley Smith, Alex Alvey, Zachary Alvey, step grandchildren; Jackson Thomas, Miles Eberle, and Ella Wilson.
Sue enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, traveling, theater, nature, and taking her dog, Lola, for walks.
Sue lived in many locations around the United States before returning to Louisville where she
fell in love with her husband, Joe Zirnheld. They made a home in the Eastern Pkwy area of
Louisville Ky. Sue enjoyed spending time with her neighbors. She will be deeply missed by her
husband, family and friends.
