Please accept my sincere sympathy over the death of Bob…I last saw him and Beans  in 2021, when I thought of him while practicing golf shots at Hays Kennedy Park , where we would go together to practice…I deeply regret not having stayed in closer contact with Bob, for he was a very good man, and even better a friend….may he at last be reunited with his loving wife Lela. Always will remember the family reunions and visits where Bob and I would watch golf and I got to have a few games with him also, lots of other memories but those early days stuck in my memory. He became much more cherished as he grew older and I tried to visit as much as possible but his memories will definitely continue in his travels with Robbie in the Overland Generation videos. A treasure trove of uncle Bob.

hey guys, sorry for your loss, have learned it never matters how old he is, was, and you, too, he is still and always will be YOUR Dad.

I remember your dad like it was yesterday, more in the gym for b-ball games, than at baseball games.  Think he had a flat-top haircut, hope I recall that correctly.  He often stood at the doors of our gym, those closest to Westport Rd.  You two were the beneficiary of a man who I saw give only unconditional love and support, know a lot of guys who did not have that.  Be careful to cherish his long life, what he gave,  to his two boys.  Alex still mentions, you, Scott, as one of the fairest bosses, people, he ever ran into.  He may not have been cut out for that business, but he did respect you and your dad.  Steve, not much I can say, except my favorite moment with you still is we were playing a freshman basketball game, Marion Coffey was one of the refs, you ran smack into a pick and butted heads, and it opened up a cut that was bleeding profusely.  Coffey says, "hey bud, your OK just head to the bench."  I come up and look at it and say, "dang, that looks bad, bet he needs stitches, that's a nasty cut".   Coffey put a forearm shimmy on me, flew  from about the top of the circle to mid court, then he said, "man, don't say that to a guy who is hurt".   Never forget that day.  

I bet you guys learned how to hustle from your dad, & he instilled his work ethic into you.  Always remember him for what you now know, no one loves their children like their dad and mom.  Love him forever until your day comes, and maybe, you will float to the Elysian Fields, thinking of your dad.  I know that is where I was, when mine passed in '16, at 92  I saw you dad was at Manual HS when Dad was, small world, my dad would be 97 today.  Miss him every day.  Talk about blind, unconditional love!  Lives built around readying his boys for adulthood, while serving his kids & community.

It was a great trip! We will miss you next time out but we’ll always have the memories of you fishing at 95! And catching some big snappers!!

You will be missed by so many people that you never met in person. Your memory will continue on through the Overlanding and YouTube communities. We will miss seeing you every week on a new adventure with your grandson Rob. You’re never ending spirit of adventure never cease to amaze us.
