Bob Colgate

Robert “Bob” Colgate, 76, fisherman, hunter, golfer, under-appreciated artist, fixer, builder, flea market specialist, Harley riding family man...passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2019. The oldest of 7 siblings, he was always available to help those in need. Whether working as a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor at Corydon Animal Hospital or during his 30-year career with G&K Services, Bob's superior work ethic was ever present. Quick to laugh, he very much enjoyed a good conversation with his friends and family while sharing a cold beer. Over a game of darts, Bob found his true love, Judy. His love for this marriage knew no bounds. A good man, Bob…he will be remembered in life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lee and Doris Louis Skaggs Colgate; and sister, Betty Baker and his brother-in-law Ray Baker.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 34 years, Judith Young Colgate; children, Dena Phipps (Scott), Albert James Colgate, Toni Wessling (Richard), Denise Pelphrey, Michael Corum, James Corum (Tiziana) Barbara Barbee; grandchildren, Amanda, Dustin, Melissa, Chris, Scott, Rick, Katie, Jordan, Jonathan, Michael, Jacob, Joshua, Nikki, Holly, Jodi; great grandchildren, Violet, Ross, Kelsey, Sara, Tripp, Knox, Cruz, Rey, Dexter, Oliver, Levi, Temple, David, Henry, Anthony, Lylah, Charlotte, Murphy; siblings, Anna Fox (Harrison), Linda Wilson, Kenny Colgate (Winetta Hogan), Jerry Colgate (Pat), Billy Colgate (Phyllis); and many loving nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 10:00 am in Evergreen Dignity Memorial Chapel with visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home.
