Bonnie Michelle Gividen

Bonnie Michelle Gividen, 53, entered back into her heavenly home on March 9, 2025. Born on April 11, 1971 in Louisville, KY to Darrell R. Stowers, Sr. and Patricia Smith Stowers. Bonnie embraced the journey of life with the sort of enthusiasm that could light up the darkest room. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with laughter, kindness, and an unwavering love for her family and friends.

Bonnie's life was a testament to the power of joy and the beauty of caring for others. She worked and cared for patients as and Endo Nurse at Baptist Hospital East. Bonnie's work wasn't just a job; it was where her second family lived, and she cherished each moment with her nursing squad.

Bonnie was the queen of flip flops and the ultimate beach aficionado. If there was sand to be walked upon, a party to be thrown, or a U of L game to be cheered on, you'd find Bonnie right in the thick of it, spreading her infectious laughter like it was confetti at a victory parade. Her love for volleyball wasn't confined to the sidelines; she played, she coached, and she probably would have refereed if they'd let her wear flip flops on the court. Bonnie also enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her family in West Virginia on the Greenbrier River eating slaw dogs.

Her generosity knew no bounds, and everyone who knew Bonnie felt her laughter, courage, and the unshakable belief that life is a party worth attending. Her strength was remarkable, her courage was inspiring, and her ability to bring people together was nothing short of magical. Bonnie may have left the stage, but her laughter echoes in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.

Preceding Bonnie in death include her father, Darrell Raymond Stowers, Sr. and dear friends, Terry & Karen Kimsey.

Left to carry on her memory are her husband, John Gividen; her children, Eric Gividen (Katie), Kaitlyn Higdon (Travis), Evan Gividen (Hope), and Kara Gividen; her grandchildren, Sawyer, Myles, and Walker; her mother, Patricia Smith Stowers; brothers, Darrell Stowers, Jr., Craig Stowers (Whitney), and Phillip Stowers (Brittany).

A Celebration of Life will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven on March 16th, 2025 from 10:30am-2pm with a memorial service honoring Bonnie’s life will begin at 2pm.
