

Brad was born in Park Forest, Illinois to Gerald and Margaret (Harkins) Gonyer on October 14, 1949. The family later relocated to New York and then Connecticut.
Brad graduated from the University of New Haven in 1972. He then went on to pursue a career in the healthcare field where he held multiple senior positions at national long-term acute care facility corporations, including Beverly Enterprises and Kindred Healthcare. He was employed as the Vice President of Nursing Home Operations until his retirement in 2011.
Brad always had a passion for music from a young age. He was proficient in multiple instruments, especially the guitar, and had a profound love for the Beatles and Beach Boys. After his retirement, he picked up his passion and started playing the guitar again. Brad was also passionate about cars and motorcycles, always eager to tell stories from his younger days of traveling across the country on his Harley Davidson or when he used to work on his corvette in the garage. He also loved golf, traveling, and spending time with his family and goldendoodle, Brinkley. His last trip was a cruise to Alaska with his grandchildren.
Brad is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nelia Gonyer, their children, a daughter, Angela Horn and her husband Charles Horn III, their children and Brad’s grandchildren, Charles Horn IV, Brooks Horn, and Annabel and his son, Chris Gonyer. Brad is also survived by his sister-in-law, Lolita Massengill and her husband, James. Brad is preceded in death by his brother, Randy Gonyer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00am on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Cherrywood Rd. Louisville KY 40207. Entombment will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
