Bradley Allan Beard (Brad), age 62, passed away on June 24, 2026. Brad is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Henrietta Beard. Here to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 40 years, Patti Beard; their children, Alex Bond (Nate) and Quinn Beard; their grandson, Henry, and another grandchild on the way; his siblings, Debbie Hawkins and Susan Blacketer (Mike); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Brad graduated from Fern Creek High School in 1981 and went on to earn his degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky in 1985 — and while he enjoyed his time there, he remained a diehard University of Louisville Cardinals fan through and through. He went on to build a distinguished career as a CPA for Papa John's International. Brad was also a dedicated fan of horse racing and cherished the travels he shared with his family to Florida, across the United States, and throughout Europe. He was immensely proud of his children's accomplishments, both academically and in sports, and gave countless hours volunteering as a coach in T-ball, baseball, softball, basketball, and football — a dedication so beloved that the children he coached over the years still affectionately call him "Coach B." In his more recent years, Brad found great joy on the golf course alongside his son and son-in-law.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Don Stevens and Becky Cox of Louisville Oncology, as well as the transplant teams at Vanderbilt and M.D. Anderson Medical Centers, for their compassionate and devoted care of Brad. In addition, Patti also wants to sincerely thank everyone for all the love, care, and support throughout these last 3 years as Brad valiantly fought to the end.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY, 40218, from 3:00 – 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning, July 1, 2026, at the funeral home from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with a funeral service in Brad’s honor beginning at 12:00 PM. While flowers are most appreciated, the family would also welcome donations to one of Brad’s favorite charities: Blood Cancer United, Special Olympics Kentucky, Wayside Christian Mission Louisville, Kentucky Humane Society Louisville, or CaringBridge Inc.
