Brenda Darlene Brinke was born on October 27, 1943 in Louisville to the late Vennard Clayton Walter and Virginia Estelle (Brooks) Walter, and passed away on January 7, 2024. She was a former x-ray tech, a huge fan of University Of Louisville sports and Nascar racing, a member of the Louisville Chorus and a longtime member of Lynnhurst United Church Of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Chris Allen Brinke; daughters, Kristin Midkiff and Dawn McFarland; a brother, Reverend Dr. Vennard Walter, Jr. “Butch” (Betty); grandchildren, Tye McFarland, Brendan McFarland, Joshua Speer, and Kayla Bowles, Brianna Orange, Carly, Saige, Anthony, Aiden, Jared, Havyn, Braylynn, Jordan, and Hope Midkiff; great grandchildren, Chase Speer, Wade Orange, Sawyer, Kiazer andElla Ross, Ezlynn Midkiff and Arayah Flores. Funeral services for Mrs. Brinke will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday January 11, 2024 at Lynnhurst United Church Of Christ, 4401 Taylor Blvd. with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 am on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
