Born in Knoxville, Tennessee on May 12, 1951 and moving back to Louisville in 1957 where her family originated. Brenda lived a life full of enjoyment. She was a wonderful women, mother, daughter, sister, wife and friend. She spent her years traveling to Florida and the Bahamas, bowling, crafting the most beautiful wreaths and holiday decor, reading every Danielle Steal novel ever written, spending time with family and friends, listening to Elvis, cheering for UofK and the Bengals. WHO DEY!!
Her claim to fame was planning! She was an activities director at Meadows South nursing home for over 20 years. She was an active member of the 2052 Elks Lodge where she led fundraisers that raised over $150,000 over the years for kids with cancer. She cared with all her heart and never met a stranger.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years Thomas Solley, daughter Bridget Thelen (Gabe,) son Brandon Solley (Maja Reuter,) Tom Solley Jr. (Cara Solley,) Bethany Darrall (Paul,) sister Peggy Deuser (Greg,) sister Lora McClure, brother Gary McClure and grandchildren Miller James Solley and Lula Mae Solley. She is predeceased by her mother Z. Mae McClure and her father Lee Roy McClure (Edwina.)
Please join us at her visitation Sunday, February 16th, 2025, 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Monday, February 17th, 2025, 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Her service will be held on Monday, February 17th, 2025 at 12:00 pm following the visitation at Arch L Heady and Son Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY 40222, with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus.
