Brenda Joyce Ziegler, 71, loving mother, grandmother, and friend, died peacefully on Saturday, April 23. She was born December 15, 1944 in Bowling Green, KY, grew up in Evansville, IN, and has lived in Louisville for the last forty years. She loved cooking, playing cards, entertaining family and friends, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Juanita and Fowler Mercer of Evansville, IN.
She is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Kenneth E. Ziegler; her two sons, Todd E. Ziegler (Karen), Lexington, KY and Travis R. Ziegler (Gina), Louisville, KY; five grandchildren, Tyler Ziegler, Vallejo, CA, Patrick Ziegler, Denver, CO, Logan Ziegler, Lexington, KY, and Tanner and Raegan Ziegler of Louisville. Other survivors include a sister Jane Sexton, Louisville, and countless dear friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4-8pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Rd.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
