

He is survived by his caring and loving wife of thirty years, formerly Sandra Kay Johnson, his parents, Frances and Martin McAlister and his in-laws, Dorothy and Harold Johnson who thought of him as a son. His children, Brice Quire, Brandi Quire Mellick (Keith). Five grandchildren, Cali Marie Quire, Brittani Nicole Quire, Carrie Ann Quire, Kiri Nicole Mellick and Caeson Anthony Mellick.
He graduated from Moore High School in the second graduating class. A graduate of the University of Kentucky and with an associate degree from University of Louisville. He worked in the healthcare field and ended his career at Gannett CJ. He had a part time job at Academy Sports and Outdoor, which he enjoyed because he was an avid sportsman and worked in the fishing and gun department. Brent was also an avid reader.
Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 2-8pm on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. A funeral service to celebrate Brent’s life will be conducted at 10am on Friday, March 31, 2017 with interment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington.
The family would like to thank the staff, doctors and nurses who cared for him at Baptist Health. They would also like to thank the caring nurses with Hosparus and a special appreciation to Dr. Udaya Joseph.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus of Louisville and to the Research of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) Lung Disease, Via Baptist Hospital of Louisville and Cancer Research.
