Born in Providence, Rhode Island on July 6, 1949, to the late Howard and Louise Goldsmith, Brian was a retired Quality Control Manager in the custom injection molding industry. During his career, he worked for Precision, Scott Industries, and Rev-A-Shelf. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1974, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. His service took him to Libya, Stuttgart, Alconbury, and Vietnam, experiences that remained among the greatest sources of pride throughout his life.
Brian appreciated life’s simple joys. He never wavered from his favorite breakfast order, loved spending time fishing, enjoyed his daily chats with the neighbors, and had a special place in his heart for his pets. More than anything, he loved his family. He carried the memories of those who had gone before him while treasuring the family who continued to bring joy to his life.
Brian is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Brian Elder; his grandson, Aiden Elder; and his mother-in-law, Betty Cresap. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Alline Goldsmith; and his siblings, Alan Goldsmith, Ann Bazar, and Steven Goldsmith.
He will be remembered for his playful and unpredictable humor, positive attitude, unwavering determination, and genuine care for others. His kindness, resilience, and love for friends and family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
