Brittany Jean Tapp

Brittany Jean Tapp, 45, of Louisville, Kentucky, was born January 10, 1981 and passed away on September 16, 2026. Brittany will be remembered as a beloved and cherished presence—faithful in the ways that mattered most, kind-hearted in everyday moments, and selfless with the people she loved. Her thoughtfulness showed not in grand gestures, but in the steady, quiet care she gave so freely.

Brittany spent her entire career working in the Optical Field, serving others with patience and consideration—bringing clarity not only through her work, but through the gentle way she treated people. She carried herself with a warm spirit and an uplifting steadiness that made others feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Brittany truly loved life. She found joy in going to the beach, traveling wherever the road might lead, and savoring the simple fun of a good day of shopping. In all of it, she brought a lightness and gratitude that lifted those around her and turned ordinary time together into lasting memories.

She is survived by her partner in life, Donnie Hays; sons, James Schuler and Tristin Hays; step-daughter, Maddie Hays; mother, Crystal Tapp; sisters, Bridgit Tapp, Brandy Mader (Brian), and Brooke Tapp (Dom); grandson, Christopher; and nieces and nephews, Bill Bill, Kynlee, Jadyn, Kenzie, and Kyleigh.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Lee Tapp; grandmother, Barbara Howell; and her beloved dogs, Bentley and Max.

Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady and Son - Cralle Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2428 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky 40206, on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. A Service to Celebrate Brittany's Life will follow at the same location that day, beginning at 4:00 pm.

Though Brittany’s time with us was far too short, the love she gave, the kindness she lived, and the faithful devotion she carried into her relationships will remain—steady, enduring, and deeply cherished.
