Oh Bruce, you beloved man.  My name is Lin Way and I worked with Dr. Keeling at San Antonio Community Hospital.  I loved him so. I was a youngen back then and I have to say, I was one of his favorites, his nickname for me was Peanuts.  I just received the news of his passing.   We all loved this warm, compassionate man so, so very much at the Hospital.  I have thought of him often over the years.  I remember he came to my house in Alta Loma to tell me he was leaving the area, it broke my heart.  God has a great human being up there with him now.  You made us laugh all the time and treated us girls with so much respect.  We loved you Dr. Keeling.  RIP my friend and dance with the angels.  Love you dearly, Lin Way.  Upland CA

Betsy, I was saddened to hear that Bruce passed  away. Whenever I see a sailboat or Capri I think of him. I still am connected to the hospital although retired from there in 2009 so visiting the Radiology Dept brings back very fond memories of all those who we worked with and their families. My prayers and best wishes to You,Sheri and Bruce Jr. Your friend from long ago.

Will miss his dear humble sprirt and his smile that lite up a room. He was kind, and knew how to make you laugh even when he didnt feel his best. He would share with anybody that wanted to know how to cook or anything you wanted to know willingly. Bruce has pass this down to his beautiful children, thank you for what he has given to us while on this earth for this short time. He will be always remembered

Mrs. Keeling and family,

I met this kind gentleman about two months ago. Unlike most people I encounter on a daily basis, he left quite an impression on me. I found him to be quite interesting and unique. I knew he was anything but ordinary the moment he chose the word "exquisite" to describe the nature of a medical issue with which he was dealing. I had the pleasure of seeing him a few times before his passing. Each time I saw him, he spoke to me as if we were friends. I will remember the respect he showed me, his kind eyes, his house shoes - which reminded me of my late grandfather - and that he insisted I call him Bruce, rather than Dr. Keeling. 

I was saddened to learn of Bruce's passing. My hope is that he went peacefully. My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to all his loved ones. I pray that God will comfort you as only He can, and that one day you will be reunited in Heaven with this "exquisite" man.

I will miss you and our long-lasting friendship from high school until now. My thoughts and prayers are with Betsy, Dot, Bruce,Jr., Sherri and the entire family.

Bruce was a friend who shared time with me on that little, short gym floor as a fellow JV basketball player at Atherton. He was always kind to me and others, and funny. He was clearly bright, and I often wished I possessed his handsome and natural proclivity to appeal to the most attractive of our female classmates. He even married one! I'm glad he shared his personality and talents with others as a physician. The world has lost one of its "Good Guys" for sure. I am sorry to hear of his passing and send condolences to his family and friends.

As additional comments from the Atherton High School class of 1954, Bruce is one of the finest graduates the Louisville school system has ever introduced into a world badly in need of intelligent, gentle professionals. It is important that his children realize the power of his personality throughout his life, and that his wife, Betsy, also understands how much we appreciated Bruce and his impact on us all.  We know that Bruce now rests in peace and love with Almighty God.

As a friend and speaking for the members of Atherton High School class of 1954, we all express our deepest sympathy for the family of
Bruce.  He was a valuable member of Atherton's football team and went on to attend Washington and Lee University and received his degree from the University of Louisville, then graduated from the UL
Med. school in 1962.  Recently  fellow classmate  Jim Debnam, who
attended Med school with Bruce, spoke so highly of Bruce's character,
and his conscientious service to his patients over his lengthy career.
Bruce attended the 50th class reunion of Atherton in 2004 and so many classmates were happy to see him again.  He and I sat together
at the 2005 class get-together and he showed an interest in a great range of subjects which made for an enjoyable evening.  I feel that
his wife Betsy and his children and family are indeed fortunate to have shared their lives with Bruce, and those feelings are shared by his
Atherton classmates.
