Calvin Coolidge Hash, 92 passed away Friday August 5 at Audubon Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Virginia(Underwood) Hash and 6 children, Jeff, Doug, Greg, Janis Kern(Keith), Carol Smith(Mike), Angela Czmowski (Steven), and six grandchildren(I've include Lauren in this number) and 3 great grandchildren.
Our dad was an amazing man - he played golf till his mid 80's, still shooting below his age, did the daily crossword puzzle, and was still driving himself to dialysis and any other place he wanted to go.
He was a WWII veteran, having served under Gen. George Patton in the third army as a combat engineer. He fought in several major battles all through the European Theatre and was awarded 4 bronze stars along with various other medals and ribbons.
His last thoughts were of his wife and children whom he loved very much, and who in return loved him dearly. He will be greatly missed.
His funeral service will be held at 10 am Monday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by private entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Sunday.
