Carol Florence, 77 of Louisville, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026. She was born August 7, 1948 to the late James L. and Lillian Eisen Young. Carol was a teacher for Jefferson County Public Schools 27 years prior to retiring.
Carol was an animal lover and even volunteered to rescue and care for animals. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Left to cherish her memory are her stepdaughter: Brenda Zinner (Greg); her grandchildren: Nicole Hile (Steve), Brandon Zinner (Amanda), and Ryan Zinner (Kasey); her great-grandchildren: Dylan Zinner, Austin Zinner, Stephen Hile, Annie Hile, Kenslee Browning, Zoey Zinner, and Landon Zinner; and her former spouse: Harry Florence.
Her Celebration of Life will take place 12-3PM Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Gheens Foundation Lodge, 1421 Beckley Creek Pkwy (parklands), Louisville, KY 40245. Dogs allowed only outside and attended on a leash.
Carol will be laid to rest privately at Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
