Carol Toon

Carol M. Toon, 77, passed away on February 4, 2024. She was born on December 3, 1946 to the late George and Loraine Hils of Southgate, KY. Carol is preceded in death by her husband Barney Toon and son-in-law Craig Merimee. Left to cherish her memory are her children; Michelle Merimee, Brad Toon, grandchildren; Emily, Morgan, Hannah, and siblings; Marianne Geiger (Frank) and Jim Hils (Kathy), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and life long friends.

Carol worked at Paul’s Fruit Market for over 25 years where her customers knew her by name. If she happened to be off that day they were shopping, they would leave to come back when she was there just so she could help them. She was a loyal mother and Mi-Mi always creating special memories with her grandchildren including baking birthday cakes for their special day, playing cards for hours, and cheering on their sports teams. Her strong faith carried her through her life and was visible to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. We are comforted knowing she is with her gracious and sovereign Lord.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday February 9, 2024 11am at St. Bernadette Catholic Church 6500 St Bernadette Ave. Louisville, KY 40059 with visitation prior from 10am-11am. Visitation will also take place on Thursday February 8, 2024 from 5pm-7pm At Arch L. Heady & Son Westport Village 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY 40222. Burial will take place on Monday February 12, 2024 11am at St. Stephen Cemetery 1523 #A Fort Thomas, KY 41075.
