She was retired from General Electric and was a member of Ormsby Heights Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Proffitt.
Survivors include her children, Ellen, William Ray, and Glenn Proffitt; grandchildren, Nicholas and Tiffany VanLeuvin and Ricky and Amanda Fink.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at O.D. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2727 S. Third St. with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday
