Charles "Charlie" R. Isgrigg
November 27, 1932 – August 8, 2019
Charles “Charlie” Raymond Isgrigg (November 27th, 1932) passed away on August 8th, 2019, due to complications of a stroke. Charlie was a veteran of the United States Air-force and served as a Weapons Fusing Systems Specialist. He was honorably discharged in 1962 and sought his degree at the University of Louisville Speed School in mechanical engineering. He worked as an sales engineer for Barber Coleman/Siebe Corporation for 30 years. Charlie and his wife, Marian Rita Grau, were high school sweethearts and met at duPont Manual High School. They made their home in Louisville, KY where they raised their four children. They recently celebrated their 64th anniversary on July 29th. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Marian; his devoted children, Lynn (Jerry), Charles “Mark” (Gayle), Geri (Christopher), and Michael (Sharon); 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and dear friends Bill Irwin and Charlie Knights. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Evelyn Isgrigg, and his brother, Richard. Charlie had a lifelong love of gardening that was instilled in him by his grandparents on their family farm. He was also a fisherman and a carpenter. Together, he and Marian had a large garden and are known among their neighbors for sharing the abundance of their produce in Grand Dell Subdivision in Crestwood, KY. Charlie was a kind, fair, and hardworking man who will be deeply missed. Visitation will be Monday, August 12th, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home from 11am-2pm with a funeral service to immediately follow at 2pm. Burial and military honors will take place in Resthaven Memorial Park.
