Charles Monroe Dye, Jr., 86, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the Seasons’ Hospice Center of the St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, Florida.
He was born on January 1, 1935 in Louisville, Kentucky to parents, Charles Monroe Dye, Sr. & Nettie Fries. Charles was a member of the Parkland Baptist Church, a Freemason and a former member of the Air National Guard. Throughout his life, Charles worked in sales. He was a former salesman in the Chemical, Boating and Auto industry working for Bay Shore Cadillac. He loved to fish, was an avid firearms collector and a huge Kentucky Wildcats Fan as well as being an NFL Fan.
His parents, Charles Monroe, Sr. & Nettie (Fries) Dye; and his wife, Cathy Dye, precede Charles in his passing.
Left to cherish his memory is his children, Danny (Lisa) Dye of Tampa, Florida and Gina (Tom) Holstein of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Cole Dye, Jeff Dye, Alyssa Dye & Brandi Velasco; 4 – great – grandchildren; 1 – sister, Leatrice Howe of Baltimore, Maryland; 1 – niece, Marilyn Groft of Maryland, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
