He was a faithful member of Belmar Baptist Church. Charles was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from GE.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bea Elder.
Charles is survived by his children, Pat Elder (Nancy), Chuck Allen (Reba), Sue Boling (Ron), Karen Allen and Shirley Taylor; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A service honoring the life of Charles will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from noon-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
