Mr. Charles F. Francke Jr., age 95, of Louisville, KY, passed away on February 26, 2023. He was born in Louisville on September 23, 1927, to Charles F. Francke Sr. and Leenor Fahey Francke. Charlie is survived by his brother John Douglas Francke (Donna); his children Charles F. Francke III (Denise Winland) and Dortha Faye “Doe” Perkerson (Phil); his grandchildren Shannon Francke, Eric Francke, Brent Perkerson (Ashley), and Maegan Espy (Tanner); 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
He graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1945 and has remained an active alumnus. He retired from Bechtel Corporation, where he worked for many years as a draftsman. He was an avid tennis and bridge player. He was competitive in Senior’s tennis until recent years. He continued to exercise daily until the last few months of his life. He was a proud Kentucky Colonel. A celebration of life is scheduled on March 18, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home - Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road. Visitation will precede the service from 11:00 am-1:00 pm.
